In addition to breastfeeding counselling and birthcompanion services, I am also proud to now offer, for rental, the AquaDoula Portable Spa for Labour and Waterbirth. This is the one of the only portable, rentable, birthing tub units in British Columbia that we know of (which is why we bought one ourselves when my sister needed one and none were available!) It can be rented and shipped throughout Canada.
For years, the AquaDoula has helped mothers and babies worldwide experience gentler birth. The AquaDoula, developed specifically for labour and waterbirth, is a "super portable" spa of soft, yet sturdy, modular design, that's easily set up in minutes with minimal assembly. (NOT an inflatable tub or kiddie pool.)
The AquaDoula's roomy size comfortably accommodates mother and partner. Furthermore, the lightweight, compact storage size makes transporting a snap. The complete spa is stored in a box only 24" and weighs approximately 60 lbs, so it can be either picked up or sent to you by courier, depending on your location and time requirements.
The price for the usage of the AquaDoula is $250 (Canadian) per birth, plus shipping if required. Many people prefer to pick it up if they are close enough. If possible, it's good to book the tub as early in the pregnancy as possible, then pick it up or have it shipped about two or three weeks before the due date, depending on your situation, location, and birth history! We expect the tub to be returned within a few days of the birth.
